Material examined. 1 Ƌ [holotyle of Varicopsella (Multispinulosa) hamiltoni Li, Dai & Li, 2014 ], CHINA: Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Longsheng County, Huaping National Natural Reserve , 18.v.2012, collected by Li Hu ; 1♂ [paratype of V. (M.) hamiltoni Li, Dai & Li, 2014 ], CHINA: Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Baise City, Tianlin County, Langping village , 23.iv.2012, collected by Yang Wei-Cheng .

Remarks. Varicopsella (Multispinulosa) hamiltoni is here transferred into the subgenus Pedionis (Pedionis) . It may be easily distinguished from other Pedionis by the unique body coloration of yellow face and pronotum and black forewings; not pointed pygofer and pygofer ventral process with small spines and setae; and the special structure of the dorsal connective.
