Out of the 32 species of Lestes in the Neotropics, nine species occur in Colombia. Three species are common and widely distributed, mainly across the Andean and Caribbean regions: L. apollinaris , L. forficula , and L. tenuatus . As for the remaining species, L. curvatus , L. dichrostigma , L. jerrelli , and L. minutus are mainly distributed in the Orinoco region, and L. helix in the Amazon region.
