Thyreus scutellaris View in CoL is known from the Palaearctic Region. The record from Eritrea is not mentioned in FRIESE (1909b, 1915), INNES BEY (1911: 106), MEYER (1921: 91), EARDLEY (1991: 35) and EARDLEY & URBAN (2010). The identification should be checked.
