Pujoliclerus maracayensis Opitz , new species ( Figs. 22 View Figs , 49 View Figs , 93 View Figs , 126)
Holotype. ♀. VENEZ: Aragua, Maracay, Rancho Grande, 11-30.XII.87, B. D. Gill ( FSCA).
Diagnosis. Within the maracayensis speciesgroup, only in specimens of this species are the elytra mostly yellow and the elytral apex black.
Description. Size: Length 8.0 mm; width 2.0 mm. Form: As in Fig. 93 View Figs . Integument: Cranium mostly black, lower frons and venter yellow; pronotum reddish yellow, infuscated at base; elytra mostly yellow, infuscated at base and in apical region; femora decreasingly infuscated from profemur to metafemur; tibiae increasingly more yellow from protibia to metatibia; pterothorax and abdomen brown. Head: Eyes as wide as frons (14:14); funicular antennomeres conspicuously expanded, 6 th antennomere large ( Fig. 22 View Figs ). Thorax: Pronotum transverse (39:35), lateral tubercle very prominent ( Fig. 49 View Figs ); epipleural fold gradually narrowed to elytral apex, asetiferous punctures prominent to elytral apex. Abdomen: Aedeagus not available.
Natural History. The holotype was collected during December.
Distribution. Known only from Venezuela ( Fig. 126).
Etymology. The trivial name indicates the origin of the holoype and honors the good people of Maracay, Venezuela.
