Note. Most authors ( Arrow 1912: 63; Blackwelder 1944: 219; Ocampo 2006: 155, 157; Ocampo and Ballerio 2006: 181) have ascribed the genus Cryptogenius View in CoL to Westwood (1845b: 158 (name) or 1846: 169 (description)) and its type species C. miersianus View in CoL to Westwood (1846: 171). With this, they appear to have overlooked the short Latin descriptions of both genus and species in Westwood (1841b: 41).
