Andrena mongolica Morawitz, 1880: 360 , ♀.

Type locality: Nanshankou, Xinjiang ( China).

Published (original) locality: “nordwestlichen Mongolei ”.

Lectotype (designated here): ♀, <golden circle> // 95107. [ China, Xinjiang, Nanshankou , 43°11’05.9”N 93°41’14.9”E, 9–10.VI.1877, G. Potanin’s expedition] // mongolica . Mor. Typ. [handwritten by F. Current status. Andrena (Plastandrena) mongolica Morawitz, 1880 .

Remark. Description of male: Popov 1949: 394, Fig 2 .

Xu & Tadauchi (1997: 175) refered to the unpublished lectotype designation and noted that “ lectotype female was designated by Osychnjuk in 1980, No 95107”.

Distribution. Turkey, Azerbaijan, Iran, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, China (Xinjiang, Xizang, Gansu). Records of this species in Mongolia ( Ascher & Pickering 2021) require verification.
