Radix (Peregriana) intermedia (Lamarck, 1822) sensu Kruglov & Starobogatov

Regional distribution. We found Radix intermedia in nearly 15 SampleS collected in WeStern, Central and Northern Mongolia. ThiS Snail preferS to liVe in relatiVely Small waterbodieS (floodplain poolS, Shallow oxbow lakeS, Shallow bayS of large lakeS rich with aquatic plantS). A few findingS of it were made from Small and medium-Size riVerS. The type SerieS of Limnaea ovata Var. eversa MartenS, 1882, with type locality Situated in Northern Mongolia, iS a mixture of ShellS that may be formally identified aS belonging to R. balthica and R. intermedia ( VinarSki 2016a) . One of theSe SyntypeS iS illuStrated here (fig. 4 M).

Extra-limital distribution. Europe, Siberia ( KrugloV 2005; AndreyeVa et al. 2010; VinarSki & Kantor 2016).

Remarks. Conchologically, thiS Snail reSembleS R. balthica and differS from the latter by conical-oVoid Shape of Shell with relatiVely higher Spire (compare figS. 4 L and M). KrugloV & StarobogatoV (1993b) regarded it aS a Separate SpecieS of the SubgenuS Peregriana , whereaS WeStern European authorS do not recognize it aS a diStinct taxon ( Glöer 2002; Welter-SchulteS 2012). SometimeS it waS treated aS a Variety of Radix ovata S. lato ( WeSterlund 1885).
