Genus Dolichopoda Bolivar, 1880 View in CoL .

Dolichopoda pusilla Bolivar, 1899 View in CoL , ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 a).

Type locality. Akbès

Studied locality. Akbès cave, Hassa, Hatay Province.

This species was initially studied by Bolivar on the basis of the sample collected in 1899 by Martinez Escalera. The type locality (Akbès) is located on the slope of the southern Eastern Taurus near the border with the Syria.

Taxonomic notes. Male tenth tergite with two lateral expansions triangular in shape and separated by a large concavity. Male genital plate with the lateral lobes triangular and deeply incised. Styli short and conical.

Dolichopoda aranea Bolivar, 1899 View in CoL , ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 b).

Type locality. Jenidje-Kalé

No sample collected in the present survey.

This species was described, together with D. pusilla , by Bolivar in 1899 from a locality in the Eastern Taurus Mountains in the Kahranmanmaraş Province, and no longer collected or observed. Therefore, we can report only the original and incomplete Bolivar description translated from Latin: “Reddish body, all femurs inferiorly unarmed, X tergite transverse. Large genital plate trapezoidal in shape deeply incised, styli absent. Ovipositor straight at the base with narrow apex. Female genital plate small and elongated”.

Dolichopoda sbordonii Di Russo & Rampini, 2006 View in CoL , ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 c).

Type locality. Karain cave, Dösemealtı, Antalya.

Previously known localities. Karain cave, Dösemealtı, Antalya; Insuyu cave, Burdur.

New localities: Musaini cave, Dösemealtı, Antalya; Tabak 1 cave, Dösemealtı, Antalya; Kocain cave, Karaveliler, Antalya.

Samples of this species were collected for the first time by V. Sbordoni in August 1967, but were regrettably lost during the expedition. The description of the species was possible only many years later based on new collections (Rampini, 1996; Latella et al., 1998) in the Karain cave. The species is restricted to caves on the slope of theTaurus Mountains, North of Antalya.

Taxonomic notes. D. sbordonii is remarkably different from the other species known in Turkey for the shape of the tenth male tergite, the occurrence of styli on the male sub-genital plate, the shape of the female sub-genital plate and for the denticulation of the ventral valve of the ovipositor.

Dolichopoda noctivaga Di Russo & Rampini, 2007 View in CoL , ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 d)

Type locality. Kafkasor, Artvin.

Previously known localities. Kafkasor; Artvin, Düzköy, Artvin; Çoruh valley, Ispir, Erzurum; tidal cave, Giresun, Espiye.

New localities. Zefre cave, Giresun, Espiye; Anaçbaşı Cave, Ordu, Kabadüz, Bayramlı; Sarıkaya cave Bolu, Yıġılca; Kelemen cave, Karabük, Yenice.

This species, recently discovered, has been described on samples collected by Ingmar Landeck and coll. during an expedition conducted in 2000. D. noctivaga distribution includes a large part of Black Sea region, inhabiting both caves and forested epigean habitats.

Taxonomic notes. D. noctivaga , based on the short size of epiphallus, triangular and rounded distal, appears to be strongly related to the trans-Caucasian species D. euxina and D.hyrcana .

Dolichopoda lycia ( Galvagni, 2006) View in CoL , ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 e)

Type locality. Peynirdeliġi cave, near Gedelma village, Olympos National Park, Antalya.

Previously known localities. Akyarlar cave, Kemer, Antalya.

New localities: Sıtmaini cave, Kemer, Antalya; Geyikbayırı cave, Geyikbayırı, Antalya; Karamaġara cave, Göynük, Kemer, Antalya; Konakaltı cave, Antalya Marine, Antalya.

Originally included in a new genus of Dolichopodainae (Hellerina) by Galvagni in 2006 on the basis of nymphs, and subsequently included in the genus Dolichopoda ( Rampini & Di Russo 2008) . This species is limited to a restricted area on Taurus, west and north-west of Antalya.

Taxonomic notes. D. lycia , although geographically and morphologically very close to D. sbordonii , clearly differs for its bigger size, bilobate epiphallus, absence of styli, apex of the female sub-genital plate slightly incised, and long ovipositor with 15 denticles on the inferior valves. It is very distinct from trans-Caucasian species ( D. euxina Semenov, 1901 and D. hyrcana Bey-Bienko, 1969 ) and the Black Sea species D. noctivaga , which differ in their epiphallus, truncated at the apex.

Dolichopoda sp.

Collection sites. Sütini cave, Selçuk, İzmir ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 f); Aşıkali cave, Argavlı, Söke, Aydın. This new taxon is limited to two caves from the Aegean region south of İzmir. It shows a great morphological affinity with the Dolichopoda species inhabiting caves in Samos Island, very close to the Aegean Turkish coast (CDR & MR unpublished data).
