Syntypes. 2 males. Taiwan .

Diagnosis. Length of body. 4.8–5.0 mm (male). Head. Eyes of male separated by a distance similar to the width of the ocellar triangle. Fronto-orbital plate and parafacial brown. Gena grey dusted from certain angles. Antenna and arista dark brown; postpedicel with tip rounded. Palpus dark brown. Thorax. Scutum with an Anthomyia -pattern in both sexes, dark postsutural band not connected to the dark scutellar dark band. Postpronotum and notopleuron grey dusted. Dorsocentrals 2+3. Intraalars 1+2. Lower katepisternal fine and closer to the posterior seta. Haltere yellow. Calypters light brown. Legs. Fore tibia without a posterior seta. Mid femur with 2 preapical setae. Mid tibia with 1 supramedian posterior seta. Hind tibia with 1 short and fine median anterodorsal and anteroventral setae; without posterodorsal. Arolium and pulvillus reduced. Wing. Smoky brown. Costal spine distinct. Abdomen. Sternite 1 bare.

Remarks. Included in the key by Xue et al. (2012). Xue and Tong (2003) gave a key to the Chinese species-groups of Limnophora , where the spoliata -group was included and was characterized by 3 postsutural dorsocentrals, frons at most 1/7 of head-width and orbital setae indistinct.
