Tribe CTENIOBATHYNELLINI Serban and Coineu

Tribe diagnosis (according to Serban and Coineau 1975a with amendments). Antennule 6-segmented. Antenna with 2- or 3-segmented protopod and 3-segmented endopod (normally) or 2-segmented (reduced). Labrum always with teeth, distal edge simple or clefted, with convex contour. Mandible with 4 or 5 distal teeth on pars incisiva and 3 or 5 claws on pars molaris; proximal tooth of pars incisiva present or reduced. Maxillule with 5 or 6 teeth on distal endite. Maxilla 2- or 3-segmented with 1 or 2 long distal claws. Thoracopod VIII male with exopod on distal face of basipod; outer lobe, never free; more or less reduced endopod; penial region normally with 2 lobes and teeth. Lateral seta on pleotelson present.
