Type sp. Drypta costigera Chaudoir, 1860
This monobasic genus is the only known member of tribe Dryptini from the Neotropical region. The single species, known only from Brazil (“Ega”, today Tefé, in the state of Amazonas), is easily distinguishable by its unique combination of characters, i.e. elytra with strong, smooth costae, intervals wide and transversely striate; apex of elytra with external angle spiniform; claws smooth.
