Description of Cytobacillus solani 16_S3_E8

Cells are Gram-staining-positive rods without a flagellum. Colonies are circular, convex, smooth, and white-colored after 2-3 days of incubation at 30℃ on R2 A agar. Positive for nitrate reduction, esculin hydrolysis, and gelatinase and β-galactosidase activities. Utilizes D- glucose, N- acetyl-glucosamine, D- maltose, and potassium gluconate. Negative for indole production, glucose fermentation, and arginine dihydrolase and urease activities. Does not utilize L- arabinose, D- mannose, D- mannitol, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid. Strain 16_S3_E8 (= NIBRBAC000508800) was isolated from sediment soil from Yeoju-si, Gyeonggi-do, Korea (37°17′51.0″N 127°38′58.5″E) GoogleMaps .
