Description of Priestia taiwanensis SIH 4
Cells are Gram-staining-negative rods with flagella. Colonies are formless, smooth, and brown-colored after four days of incubation at 30℃ on TSA. Positive for esculin hydrolysis and gelatinase and β-galactosidase activities. Utilizes D- glucose, N- acetylglucosamine, and D- maltose. Negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, and arginine dihydrolase and urease activities. Does not utilize L- arabinose, D- mannose, D- mannitol, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid. Strain SIH4 (= NIBRBAC000508933) was isolated from soil from Siheung, Gyeonggi-do, Korea (37°23′01.8″N 126° 47′02.7″E) GoogleMaps .
