Distribution. – Indonesia [Sumatra] and West Malaysia ( Balfour-Browne, 1939c; Hebauer et al., 1999; Hansen, 1999). Singapore!

Ecology. – A very common species which inhabits very shallow water at the edge of weedy ponds, pools, puddles, slow-flowing streams, ditches and paddy fields ( Yano et al., 1983a). It is sometimes found in small puddles fed by helocrenes or small streams. The beetles crawl among packs of rotten leaves, plant debris and mud ( Hebauer et al., 1999).
