Material examined. – 1 specimen – Central catchment area - 1 ex., MacRitchie Reservoir Park, close to Sime Road, 24 Apr.1997, coll. M. Balke & L. Hendrich ( ZRC) .
Distribution. – Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Thailand, West Malaysia, Indonesia: Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan ( Vazirani, 1977), Singapore (Balke et al., 1999).
Ecology. – Our single specimen was collected from leaf litter in an almost dry, shallow, muddy and shaded pond, situated in a freshwater swamp forest. In general, Hydrocanthus usually occur in more permanent water bodies rich in submerged vegetation and rotten leaves.
