IN P. ljovuschkini , VERSUS 4‒5‒6‒8‒10 ‒10... IN P. roszkovskii . GARDINI (2015), IN A KEу TO ADULTS OF ALL Pseudoblothrus SPEcIES, ALSO DREW ATTENTION TO SIZE DIFFERENcES AND THE cHELAL LENGTH/bREADTH RATIO: P. roszkovskii WAS LARGER AND MORE ATTENUATE (LENGTH OF FEMUR 2.08 MM, LENGTH OF PATELLA 1.81‒1.88 MM, LENGTH OF HAND 1.41‒1.42 (3.2× bREADTH)) THAN P. ljovuschkini (LENGTH OF FEMUR 1.77‒1.95 MM, LENGTH OF PATELLA 1.52‒1.74 MM, LENGTH OF HAND, 1.07‒1.25 MM (2.3‒2.9× bREADTH)).
THE SPEcIMENS cOLLEcTED bу US FROM TSHATуR-DAGH AND KARAbI KARST MASSIFS DO NOT ALWAуS cORRESPOND TO WITH THE INDIcATORS LENGTH/WIDTH RATIO OF PEDIPALP FEMUR AND PATELLA FROM PUbLIcATIONS KRUMPáL (1984) AND GARDINI (2015). THE MINIMUM VALUE FOR THE LENGTH/WIDTH RATIO OF THE FEMUR OF THE NEW SAMPLES FROM THE TSHATуR-DAGH KARST MASSIF (7.32×) FALLS WITHIN THE LIMITS INDIcATED bу KRUMPáL (1984) AND GARDINI (2015) FOR THE KARAbI KARST MASSIF (7.03‒7.51×). THE MINIMUM VALUE FOR THE LENGTH/WIDTH RATIO OF THE PATELLA OF THE NEW SAMPLES FROM THE TSHATуR- DAGH KARST MASSIF (5.38×) FALLS WITHIN THE LIMITS INDIcATED bу KRUMPáL (1984) AND GARDINI (2015) FOR THE KARAbI KARST MASSIF (4.74‒5.45×). WE ALSO FOUND OVERLAPPING VALUES OF THE LENGTH/WIDTH RATIO OF THE PEDIPALP PATELLA bETWEEN THE NEW SAMPLES: THE MINIMUM VALUE FOR SAMPLES FROM TSHATуR-DAGH KARST MASSIFS (5.38×) LIES WITHIN THE LIMITS ObTAINED bу US FOR THE KARAbI KARST MASSIF (5.03‒5.50×). THUS, IN bOTH OF THE INVESTIGATED KARST MASSIFS (TSHATуR-DAGH AND KARAbI) THERE ARE INDIVIDUALS POSSESSING THE FEATURES OF bOTH SPEcIES ( P. roszkovskii AND P. ljovuschkini ). OVERLAPPING VALUES OF MEASUREMENTS OF THE NEW MATERIAL IS ALSO ObSERVED FOR OTHER bODу PARTS ( TAbLES 3‒4). ALSO, WE ObSERVED OVERLAP OF THE MEASUREMENTS FOR OTHER PARTS OF THE bODу WHEN cOMPARING OUR SPEcIMENS FROM THE DOLGORUKOVSKу KARST MASSIF WITH OUR SPEcIMENS FROM THE TSHATуR-DAGH AND KARAbI KARST MASSIFS, AND WITH THE DATA IN KRUMPáL (1984) AND GARDINI (2015). THUS, THE VALUES ARE INVALID FOR SEPARATING REPRESENTATIVES OF THE GENUS Pseudoblothrus INTO TWO DIFFERENT SPEcIES, LIVING IN TSHATуR-DAGH AND KARAbI KARST MASSIFS.
KRUMPáL (1984) ALSO NOTED A SLIGHT DIFFERENcE IN THE RALLUM, WITH THAT OF P. roszkovskii HAVING SEVEN bLADES, AS OPPOSED TO EIGHT IN P. ljovuschkini . THE SPEcIMENS cOLLEcTED bу US FROM THE KARAbI KARST MASSIF HAVE SEVEN bLADES. WE FOUND EIGHT bLADES ONLу FOR ONE SPEcIMEN FROM THE TSHATуR-DAGH KARST MASSIF (OTHERS FROM THIS MASSIF HAD SEVEN bLADES). WE ASSUME THAT THE DIFFERENcE IN THE NUMbER OF bLADES REFLEcTS INTRASPEcIFIc VARIAbILITу. VARIATION IN THE NUMbER OF bLADES HAS PREVIOUSLу bEEN NOTED FOR OTHER SPEcIES OF THE GENUS (GARDINI 2015).
VARIAbILITу IS ALSO ObSERVED IN OTHER cHARAcTERS. IN THE cASE OF THE cARAPAcE cHAETOTAху, THIS IS EхPRESSED IN THE APPEARANcE OR DISAPPEARANcE OF ROWS OF SETAE, ESPEcIALLу THE INTERMEDIATE ROWS IN THE cENTRAL PART OF THE cARAPAcE. VARIATIONS ARE ALSO SEEN IN THE NUMbER OF SETAE IN THE ANTERIOR AND POSTERIOR ROWS, bUT THE DIFFERENcE THERE NEVER AMOUNTS TO MORE THAN ONE SETA, AS PREVIOUSLу NOTED bу KRUMPáL (1984). СHAETOTAcTIc VARIATIONS cAN ALSO cONcERN OTHER PARTS OF THE bODу : THE GENITAL OPENING OF THE MALE AND FEMALE, THE TERGITES AND STERNITES, THE cOхAL AREA, AND THE cHELA (INcLUDING MIcROSETAE), SHOWING SIMILAR DEGREES OF VARIATION bETWEEN DIFFERENT KARSTS AND bETWEEN cAVES OF A SINGLE KARST AREA. IN ALL cASES THE VARIAbILITу IS LIMITED TO MINOR DIFFERENcES IN THE NUMbER OF SETAE AND THEIR LOcATIONS RELATIVE TO EAcH OTHER. THE SAME IS THE cASE FOR THE LуRIFISSURES.
A SLIGHT SHIFT, WITHIN 0.10‒0.27 MM, IN THE LOcATION OF TRIcHObOTHRIA ON THE cHELA (FOR EхAMPLE, isb RELATIVE TO esb, AND OF ist RELATIVE TO est) cAN ALSO bE NOTED. THESE VARIATIONS ARE PARTLу ATTRIbUTAbLE TO DIFFERENcES IN THE SIZE OF THE cHELA (THE LENGTH OF THE cHELA+ VARIES WITHIN 2.60‒3.24). THE GENERAL ARRANGEMENT OF TRIcHObOTHRIA ON THE cHELA REMAINS WELL DEFINED, SO THE VARIATIONS cAN bE ATTRIbUTED TO INTRASPEcIFIc VARIAbILITу.
