Key to females of the Afrotropical species of Plectiscus

1. Second metasomal tergite elongate, about 2.0× as long as wide, longitudinally striate to the apex ( Fig. 1H ). Antenna with 27 flagellomeres; first flagellomere 4.2× as long as wide. Mesosoma yellow ventrally ( Fig. 1A )............ P. oblongus sp. n.

- Second metasomal tergite subquadrate, at most 1.2× as long as wide, longitudinally striate at most to the middle ( Fig. 2I ). Antenna with at most 22 flagellomeres; first flagellomere about 3.0× as long as wide. Mesosoma entirely brown ( Fig. 2A )... ................................................................................................... 2

2. Antenna with 16–17 flagellomeres. Second metasomal tergite sculptured to the middle............ P. pomariorum (Seyrig)

- Antenna with 22 flagellomeres. Second metasomal tergite sculptured anteriorly ( Fig. 2I )............... P. taitaensis sp. n.
