Material examined. 4 ex. Toubao River , Dongfeng Town , Wudang District, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, China; 26.60°N, 106.81°E, September 2023 by Jia- Hao Jing leg. GoogleMaps

Holotype. NNUH20240301 , shell height 17.03 mm, width 8.12 mm, height of the body whorl 9.14 mm.

Paratypes. 3 ex. NNUH20240302–4 , shell height 14.22–16.44 mm, width 7.02–7.83 mm, height of the body whorl 7.89–9.29 mm, locality and habitat same as holotype .

Locus typicus. Toubao River, Dongfeng Town, Wudang District, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, China; 26.60°N, 106.81°E.

Etymology. The specific name " wudangensis " is derived from Wudang district, Guiyang city, China, the collection location of the specimen. We suggest the Chinese common name as " 乌当华ĸ ".

Description. Shell small, thick, solid, conical, brownish red, suture with light yellow stripes, some individuals have light yellow body whorl without stripes; shell comprising eight to nine whorls, surface near smooth, growth lines no obvious, without spiral ribs, body whorl swollen, taking up most of the shell about 55%, with very faint transverse lines. Suture low. Lip thin, inner lip slightly thickened and smooth, white, outer lip purplish black. Umbilicus absent.

Operculum. ( Fig. 2 H View Figure 2 ) Ovate, smaller than aperture, corneous, thin, brown, length 4.39 mm, width 3.13 mm, and the nucleus located at the bottom left about 2/7.

Radula. ( Fig. 3 H View Figure 3 ) Central teeth with triangle-shaped pointed major cusp, and 3 smaller cusps on each side. Lateral teeth with pointed major cusp, and 3 smaller cusps on each side. Inner marginal teeth with four and outer with five to six flattened, rounded denticles.

Anatomy. Snout, foot and tentacles orange-yellow, with brown pigmented spots. Snout broad, cylindrical, with long cephalic tentacles, tentacles roughly greater than snout in length.

Remarks. Lateral teeth have only 3 smaller cusps on inner side of H. wudangensis sp. nov., which is a significant feature that distinguishes other Hua species. Hua wudangensis sp. nov. is most similar to H. intermedia , but can nevertheless be easily separated by the operculum nucleus located at about 2/7 (vs. located at the bottom left edge in H. intermedia ). The new species can also be clearly distinguished from other Hua congeners by the following features: shell smooth (vs. shell sculptured in H. aristarchorum and H. aubryana ), outer marginal teeth with five to six flattened denticles (vs.more than or equal to ten flattened in H. vultuosa , H. kunmingensis , and H. liui ).

Habitat and distribution. This species was collected in the Toubao River, Dongfeng Town, Wudang District, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, China. The species inhabits rivers with a depth of less than 30 cm, slow water flow, and a substrate made of stones and sand.
