Anachrysa lifashengi sp. nov.

( Figs. 3 View FIGURE 3 A–M, 5)

Diagnosis. Head with brownish genal stripe connected with clypeal markings; scape without reddish brown stripe. Pronotum with small medio-lateral spots; pretarsal claw with basal dilation about half as long as claw hook, ventral margin of basal dilation projected apically. Forewing without clearly discernible markings; inner and median gradate crossveins brownish; distal cubital cell (dcc) with reddish brown spots. Tergum 9+ecroprocts proximally prominent dorsad into an angulate peak in lateral view.

Description. Measurements: Head width 1.20 mm; ratio of head width/eye width = 2.00; prothorax 0.60 mm long and 1.00 mm wide. Forewing 15.00 mm long, 5.00 mm wide; 14 radial cells; 5 Banksian cells (b cells), 5 lower Banksian cells (b’ cells); 7 inner gradates, 6 median gradates, 8 outer gradates. Hind wing 14.50 mm long, 3.50 mm wide; 13 radial cells; 3 Banksian cells (b cells), 4–5 lower Banksian cell (b’ cells); 9 inner gradates, 2–4 median gradates, 7 outer gradates.

Head. Vertex pale green, immaculate; frons with epistomal suture marked with reddish stripe; gena marked with brownish stripe, which is connected with clypeal markings; tentorial pits unmarked; scape unmarked; clypeus with lateral area marked with brownish markings; maxillary palp with palpomeres 4 and 5 brownish; labial palp with palpomere 3 brownish.

Thorax. Pronotum with reddish lateral stripe and small medio-lateral spots. Pretarsal claw with basal dilation about half as long as claw hook, ventral margin of basal dilation projected apically.

Wings. Forewing narrow, hyaline, without clearly discernible markings. Costal crossveins, branches of radical sector (Rs) at junctions with pseudomedia (Psm), inner and median gradates, dcc and first anal vein (1A) brownish; hind wing narrow, more acutely tapered apically than forewing, hyaline; veins almost pale green except costal crossveins.

Abdomen pale green. Abdominal setae white, microsetae dense, and long setae sparse.

Male. Tergum 9+ectoprocts quadrate, about three times as long as tergum 8, proximally prominent dorsad into an angulate peak in lateral view, dorsal invagination about 2/3 length of tergum 9+ectoprocts; callus cerci oval, about twice as long as wide. Sterna 8+9 fused, very narrow, about twice as long as wide, with line of fusion not demarcated; lateral margin straight and abruptly tapered near apex, posterior margin rounded. Tignum, gonapsis and hypandrium internum present; tignum narrow; gonarcus narrow, slightly longer than mediuncus; entoprocessus long and narrow, with small subapical unarticulated process; mediuncus slightly curved; gonapsis with lateral wings asymmetric, narrow, stem short and expanded subapically; hypandrium internum small, with two short, dense arm, with narrow junction.

Female. Unknown.

Etymology. This new species is dedicated to the collector, Prof. Fasheng Li (CAU), of the type specimen of the new species.

Type material. Holotype Ƌ, China, Xizang, Nyingchi ( HAE), Bome (Affl), Zhamu (±+), 2700 m, 95°78′E 29°86′N, 1978.VII.21, Li Fasheng ( CAU).

Distribution. China (Xizang).

Remarks. Yang et al. (2005) reported that A. elegans occurs in China based on a specimen in the collection of CAU with a hand-written label “ Chrysopidia elegans Hölzel , new records to China, Yang 1987”. We studied this specimen and found that it is actually not A. elegans , but A. lifashengi sp. nov. mainly based on the male genital characters mentioned below.

The new species can be distinguished by the absence of reddish brown stripe on scape (present in A. trigonia and A. xiangana ), the brownish inner and median gradate crossveins (pale green in A. holzeli ), the male gonapsis with short stem (long in A. elegans ) and narrow wings (broad in A. erato ), and the presence of projected dorsal peak of tergum 9+ectoprocts in lateral view (absent in A. luna sp. nov.).
