Key to species of Cyclaxyra
1 Punctation of frons relatively fine and very dense with punctures separated by 1 diameter ( Fig. 19 View Figs ); metaventrite medially densely, finely punctate; brachypterous; tegmen with long basal strut ( Fig. 22 View Figs ); penis more elongate, more than 5 times as long as wide ( Fig. 24 View Figs ); northeastern South Island. .................................................................. – Punctation of frons extremely coarse to very weak, sparse to moderately dense with punctures separated by 1–3 diameters ( Fig. 20 View Figs ), or nearly absent ( Fig. 21 View Figs ); metaventrite medially impunctate or sparsely, finely punctate; brachypterous or macropterous; tegmen with short, tapering basal strut ( Fig. 26 View Figs ); penis shorter, broader, less than 4.5 times as long as wide ( Fig. 28 View Figs ); widespread throughout New Zealand. .........
