Type series. Holotype female, Mahua stream at crossing with main road, Crocker Range, Borneo, Malaysia, 5º 45.225 N 116º 26.085 E, alt. 752 m asl, 22-ix-2012 ( RMNH).
Diagnosis. Cx-IV without lateral suture lines, posterior extensions of fourth coxae narrow and pointed.
Description. Female: Idiosoma papillate, more dense in posterior third, subrectangular, colour pale yellow, 445 long and 350 wide. Dorsal shield 429 long and 308 wide, with two pairs of glandularia, the postocularia and two pairs of setae without glandularia, slightly indented just anterior to the middle, on the level of the only glandularium in the dorsal furrow. Suture lines Cx-II/III short, not extending to midline; suture of midline incomplete (interrupted); fourth coxae medially without interspace, lateral margins not visible as suture lines posterior margin medially straight, laterally line with a small, pointed, posteromedially-directed extension (30 long) embracing a glandulare. Genital plates 60 long and 48 wide. Length/height of P1-P5: 23/12, 31/22, 30/20, 42/ 20, 26/10; P4 widened anteriorly. Length of I-leg-4-6: 76, 76, 62; first legs longer than second legs. Length of IVleg-4–6: 86, 88, 68.
Male: Unknown.
Etymology. Named for the absence of lateral suture lines of the fourth coxae.
Remarks. Cx-IV without suture lines indicating the lateral margins, and with similarly narrow and pointed posterior extension are not found in any other Ljania species.
Distribution. Borneo; known only from the locus typicus.
