Distribution. Western Atlantic—Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea (Yucatán Peninsula to Venezuela), Brazil (Atol das Rocas, Trindade Island, Ceará, Alagoas, Bahia to São Paulo) ( Coutière 1909; Chace 1956; Anker et al. 2012; 2016).

Previous records. São Sebastião (Anker et al. 2012).

Remarks. According to Anker et al. (2012), the material recorded in Brazil as S. minus ( Say, 1818) by Christoffersen (1979) might also include S. antillensis . GenBank accession number: CCDB 4854—16S ( KU312987 View Materials ).
