Etymology. The specific epithet “ claudioi ” derives from “Claudio” first name of Claudio José Fernandes da Costa, technician of the Malacology Sector of the Museu Nacional, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (MNRJ). Claudio bravely saved most of the type material of molluscs, including the holotype of this species, during the fire at MNRJ in 2018. The gender is masculine.
