Type locality: India, Bihar, Raxaul , 180 m ( Wooldridge 1977).

Distribution in India: Assam (Sukna), Bihar (Pusa), Chhattishgarh (Pharasgaon), Delhi, Himachal Pradesh (Kangra, Bilaspur, Govind Sagar Wildlife Sanctuary), Jharkhand (Konbir), Madhya Pradesh (Barway), Maharashtra (Ojhar), Karnataka (Mysore, Belgaum, Shimoga), Lakshadeep (Agatti, Kavaratti), Odisha (Barkuda, Chilka Lake; Satkosia and Baisipalli Wildlife Sanctuary), Punjab, Tamil Nadu (Chennai, Coimbatore), Uttarakhand (Kumaon, Almora, Bhimtal, Ranikhet), and West Bengal (Asansol, Darjeeling, Birbhum: Shantiniketan).

Global distribution: Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
