Type locality: Afghanistan, Nuristan. Bashgultal 1100 m (Gentili 1995).

Distribution in India: Punjab (Lori, River Sutlej), Uttarakhand (Kumaon, Haldwani, West Almora, Ranikhet, Dehradun, River Song, Mussorie: Kempty Fall), and West Bengal (Darjeeling, Gharap, Gorubathan, Khani Khola, Rally Khola).

Global distribution: Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Bhutan, China, Cyprus, India, Iran, Jordon, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan.
