Distribution in India: Delhi, Himachal Pradesh (Sirmour, Renuka Wildlife Sanctuary), Madhya Pradesh (Panna National Park), Odisha ( Chilika Lake ), Rajasthan ( Bharatpur , Sikar), Sikkim (Rongpo), Tamil Nadu ( Tharangambadi “ Tranquebar ”), Uttarakhand (Dehradun, Haridwar, Mussorie), and Uttar Pradesh (Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Etah, Rampur, Aligarh, Hardoi).

Global distribution: Angola, Bangladesh, Benin, Botswana, Cape Verde Island, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea Bissau, India, Iran, Iraq, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Mali, Mauritania, Namibia, Nepal, Niger, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Tanzania, Yemen, and Zimbabwe.
