Type locality: Sri Lanka, a mountain in the environs of Nuwara Eliya (“ Montagne de Nura-Ellia ”) ( Fikáček et al. 2012).

Distribution in India: Assam (Sadiya), Arunachal Pradesh (Bhalukpong), Andhra Pradesh (Kurnool, Prakasam), Goa , Karnataka (Belgaum), Kerala ( Trivandrum , Malabar), Manipur (Imphal), Puducherry (Karaikal), Sikkim, Tamil Nadu (Negapatam, Nilgiri Hills, Kodaikanal, Shenbagnaur), Uttarakhand ( South Garhwal , Dehradun, West Almorah), and West Bengal (Darjeeling, Kalimpong).

Global distribution: China, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Nepal, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam.
