Material examined. OKLAHOMA: Payne Co., Mehan , 36.014339° N, 96.996744° W, 1.vii.2015, em GoogleMaps . 16– 25.vii.2015, M.W. Palmer, ex Vernonia baldwinii , #CSE1818, CNC564637, CNC564638 (1♀ 1 partially emerged from puparium, poor condition).
Host. Asteraceae : Vernonia baldwinii Torr.
Leaf mine. Very similar to that of Nemorimyza posticata (Meigen) : a trumpet-shaped blotch, proceeding distally along the leaf margin, with conspicuous feeding lines; whitish, largely discolored brown except at the margins; frass in scattered grains and irregular lumps.
Puparium. Brown; formed outside the mine.
Comments. No Nearctic agromyzid had been reared from leaf mines on Vernonia prior to this study.
