( Figs. 6 View FIGURES 2 – 10 , 15 View FIGURES 11 – 23 , 28, 53, 58, 66, 76 left)

Baeocera caliginosa Löbl, 1984b: 186 ; Hoshina, 2010: 16; Löbl, 2012a: 124.

Diagnosis. Antennomere XI about 1.7 times as long as III. Elytral disc sparsely and coarsely punctuate. Lateral portion of metaventrite sparsely and coarsely punctuate. Ventrite I sparsely and coarsely punctuate. Parameres symmetrical; inner sac with rod-like sclerites. Distal gonocoxite normal and slender.

Redescription. Body oval, shining. Head, pronotum and elytra reddish-brown; frons, clypeus and labrum reddish-brown; antennomere I and II, femora and tibiae light reddish-brown; maxillary palpi, tarsi and antennomeres III–VI yellowish-brown; antennomeres VII–XI dark yellowish-brown. Head, pronotum and elytra sparsely and finely pubescent.

Head with interocular distance about twice as eye width. Punctuation sparse and fine. Antennomeres I–VI with a few macrosetae, VII–XI covered with some macrosetae; X about 1.5 times as long as III; III, IV and VIII almost even in length (Fig. 28).

Pronotum wider than long, lateral keel distinct except near basal angles. Punctuation sparse and fine, as on head. Scutellum almost as long as wide, with exposed apex.

Elytra almost as long as wide, widest at basal fourth, lateral margins gradually narrowed apically, minutely serrate at inner part of posterior margin. Punctuation on disc sparse and coarse, the other portion fine. Sutural striae extending outwards along basal margin to form complete basal stria joined to lateral striae.

Propygidium sparsely and coarsely punctuate; pygidium with 2 macrosetae, sparsely and coarsely punctuate in basal half, finely punctuate from basal half to apex, and truncate at apex.

Hypomeron impunctate. Mesoventrite sparsely and finely punctuate, as pronotum. Lateral portion of metaventrite sparsely and coarsely punctuate ( Fig. 76 View FIGURES 76 – 83 left). Mesepimeron about third as long as wide. Mesocoxa about twice as wide as interspace between mesocoxa; mesocoxal area narrow. Metepimeron almost as long as wide. Metacoxa about twice as wide as metacoxal process. Metanepisternum about twice as long as wide. Ventrite I sparsely and coarsely punctuate, with row of long basal wrinkles and 4 macrosetae; V with 8 macrosetae, sparsely and finely punctuate, and truncate at apex.

Meso- and metafemora with microsculpture, sparsely and coarsely punctuate.

Male. Aedeagus about 0.29 mm long; parameres symmetrical; inner sac with rod-like sclerites ( Fig. 66 View FIGURES 62 – 67 ).

Female. Distal gonocoxite normal and slender (Fig. 53); vagina membranous, without robust sclerites; bursa copulatrix not sclerotized.

Measurements (n = 13). Length (PL+EL): 1.25–1.44 mm; width (PW, EW): 0.71–0.79 mm, 0.73–0.83 mm. PL/PW: 0.68–0.76; EL/EW: 0.97–1.08. HW: 0.30–0.38 mm. ID: 0.16–0.18 mm.

Approximate ratio of each antennal length (width) as follows (n = 1); 1.5 (1.0): 1.4 (0.9): 1.0 (0.3): 1.0 (0.3): 1.4 (0.3): 1.2 (0.3): 1.4 (0.4): 1.0 (0.3): 1.4 (0.6): 1.5 (0.7): 1.7 (0.8).
