Haematoloecha nigrorubra nigrorubra Distant, 1919 View in CoL
Diagnosis. Distinguished from the endemic Taiwanese subspecies H. nigrorubra conspicua by the black head, black femora, and red abdominal venter.
Distribution. China. Guangxi: Nandan ( Li et al. 1988, Zhang et al. 1994); Sichuan: Emeishan! (NKUC); Yunnan: Sichuangbanna! (NKUC). Laos. [Bokeo Province]: Suang Prabang, ‘Pak Tha, Ban Thiou’! (BMNH).
Taxonomy. Haematoloecha nigrorubra was described based on a specimen from Pak Tha District of the present Bokeo Province of northwestern Laos. Later H. yunnana was described based a specimen collected from the southernmost part of Yunnan Province of China, just neighbouring Laos. A single syntype of H. nigrorubra (hereby designated as lectotype) and the holotype of H. yunnana have been re-examined and they are considered as conspecific, therefore H. yunnana is considered as a junior synonym of H. nigrorubra .
