Key to the species of Haematoloecha occurring in Taiwan

1 Only micropterous morph known ( Fig. 1 ): fore wing rudimentary, not reaching apex of scutellum, claval suture and membrane fully missing ( Fig. 4 ). Pronotum dark brown, humeral lobes of posterior lobe usually yellowish brown..... H. curta sp. nov.

– Only macropterous morph known. Pronotum red, red and black, or yellow, humeral lobes of posterior lobe of the same colour as disk of posterior lobe............................................................................... 2

2 Small, total length about 9–10 mm. Body pale yellow and brown, corium brown with costal margin yellow ( Fig. 3 )............................................................................................. H. pusilla sp. nov.

– Larger, total length above 10 mm. Body bright red and black, corium red with various black pattern, not with yellow costal margin ( Figs. 22–24 , 45 , 60 )........................................................................... 3

3 Anterior lobe of pronotum black, posterior lobe red; paramere with a conspicuous, angulate dorsal projection around its middle................................................................................... H. adachii Tachikawa

– Both anterior and posterior lobes of pronotum red; paramere without such a projection, but sometimes with broadly rounded, laminately explanate keels.............................................................................. 4

4 Greatest part of head red; legs red; coriaceous portion of corium uniformly red, at most with a minute black patch at middle of distal margin; connexivum uniformly red or with slight blackish suffusion at apical halves of each segments ( Fig. 60 ); paramere conspicuously thick, with broadly laminate keels ( Figs. 50–55 )............. H. nigrorubra conspicua ssp. nov.

– Head black or red; legs black or red; coriaceous portion of corium red, at least with an elongate black spot along proximal membranous area and another elongate black spot along distal margin, black pattern sometimes more extensive; connexivum red with apical portions of segments II–VI (3) / II–VII (Ƥ) broadly black, sometimes black spots faint ( Figs. 23–24 ); paramere not conspicuously thick, without broadly laminate keels................................ H. nigrorufa (Stål)
