Description of Balneola vulgaris IMCC View in CoL 12361
Cells are Gram-staining-negative, non-flagellated and rodshaped (1.6 μm long, 0.4 μm wide). Colonies are circular, convex, opaque and redcolored after 3 days of incubation on MA at 15°C. Negative reactions are obtained for indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, urease, esculin hydrolysis and gelatinase in API 20NE. Does not utilize L arabinose, N acetylglucosamine, capric acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid. Strain IMCC12361 (= NIBRBA 0000114858) was isolated from a sea water sample, East sea, Sokcho, Korea.
