Designation of neotype ( Fig. 2P ): The holotype of Aphrodisium palawanum Schultze, 1922 (female), originally deposited in the Bureau of Science, Manila (now the Philippine National Museum, PNM), was destroyed along with all beetle type materials during World War II. We hereby designate a male specimen from Palawan Island as Neotype, which is part of the Stanley Cabigas Collection donated to the National Museum of the Philippines, with the following labels: “Is. Philippines, Is. Palawan, J. C. Boudant leg. “/ “ NEOTYPE male, Aphrodisium palawanum Schultze, M. Medina & E. Vives des. 2025”/ “ PNM No. 18960” / “ Schmidtiana palawana Schultze, M. Medina & E. Vives det., 2025./”.
