Type species: Natarsia punctata ( Fabricius, 1805: 43) . See Spies & Saether (2004)
Diagnostic characters: The adult males can be distinguished by the following combination of characters: eye not iridescent; terminal flagellomere not offset, 3 times as long as basal width, more or less conical but tapering in distal 1/3 to form long apical nipple. Antennal ratio 1.7–2.0; antepronotum well developed, lobes widely separated above; scutal tubercle and medial scar absent; C produced well beyond R4+5, reaching wing tip; R2+3 distinct; fCu proximal to crossvein mcu; anal lobe well developed; tibial spur large, main tooth 1/3 spur length and with 8 or 9 side teeth; tibial comb present on fore and hind legs; claws small, slightly recurved and distally spatulate, with basal ventral spinule; pulvilli absent; tergite IX without posterior row of transverse setae; anal point broad, conical; gonocoxite slender, more or less cylindrical, 2 times as long as broad and distally slightly tapered; gonostylus robust, about 0.75 times as long as gonocoxite, broad basally, recurved and narrow in apical 2/3;megaseta small; phallapodeme short but distinct; sternapodeme curved anteriorly.
