Hadrodemius pseudocomans (Eggers) View in CoL
(Figs 5–6)
Xyleborus pseudocomans Eggers, 1930: 187 View in CoL ,
Hadrodemius pseudocomans (Eggers) View in CoL : Wood & Bright, 1992: 819. Xyleborus artecomans Schedl, 1953: 24 View in CoL . Syn.n.
Taxonomy: I have examined three female paratypes of H.pseudocomans from Northeast India ( NMW), and the female lectotype ( NMW) and a female paratype of X.artecomans ( DEI) from China (Fujian), and compared them with specimens in NMB and RAB from India, Thailand and Vietnam. As with H.comans , examination of a greater range of material indicates that there are intermediates between the two species. They are therefore placed in synonymy. The male was described by Schedl (1953, as X.artecomans ).
Distribution: China (Fujian, Xizang), India (Assam, West Bengal), Myanmar, Thailand. This species has a more northerly distribution than the other two, and has not been found in the Malaysian-Indonesian region. Biology: Recorded from 5 families and 6 genera of angiosperm trees.
