FEMALE

Gnathosoma. Anterior margin of epistome convex, smooth. Seta pc about as long as h3, in turn longer than h1; h2 the shortest; insertion of h 2 in transverse line with insertion of h3. Inner palp trochanter seta not elongate, shorter than outer trochanter seta. Deutosternum moderately wide, with delimiting lateral lines and seven rows of denticles; delimiting lines not reaching most basal row; 5–8 denticles in each row, except the second row from the base, extending beyond lateral lines and bearing 15–18 denticles. Corniculi about three times as long as their basal widths, not particularly approximate to each other, distally convergent. Cheliceral digits of similar lengths; fixed digit with three teeth in addition to apical tooth; movable digit edentate.

Idiosoma. Dorsum: dorsal shield partially reticulate, with lateral incisions at region of fusion and without delineated strip along lateral margins; anterior end of dorsal shield not strongly deflexed. No supernumerary setae on dorsal shield. Podonotal region of shield with 20 pairs of setae, including r3, which is similar to neighbouring setae. Opisthonotal region of shield with 12 pairs of setae. Unsclerotised lateral cuticle with seven pairs of setae. Dorsal and lateral setae of idiosoma of similar lengths, much shorter than distance to subsequent setae, acicular, smooth. Ve n t e r: presternal platelets indistinct. Sternal shield with three pairs of setae (st1–st3) of similar lengths; st2 about equally distant to st1 and st3; posterior shield margin undulate. Third pair of sternal lyrifissures (iv3) and st4 inserted on metasternal plates. Genital shield narrow, but bearing st5; broad anterior hyaline region as well as posterior region convex. A pair of elongate metapodal plates. Opisthogaster with ten pairs of setae, four pairs of which on subtriangular ventrianal shield; para-anal setae inserted at level of anterior anal margin, about half as long as post-anal seta. Anal opening small, about 1/7 of shield length, separated from posterior shield margin. Endopodal shield reduced to a plate beside coxa IV. Exopodal shield reduced to a triangular platelet between each of coxae I–II, II–III and III–IV.

Peritreme. Extending from stigma to level immediately anterior to s1, about as wide as diameter of stigma. Peritrematic shield distinctly wider than peritreme at its mid-length and near its distal end but not elsewhere; fused with dorsal shield immediately anterior to level of s1 and with remnant exopodal platelet beside coxa IV. Legs. Median section of pulvilli of legs I–IV rounded. Genu III with ten setae (pl 2 present) and genu IV with 11 setae (pv1 and pl2 present).

Spermathecal apparatus. Phytoseiid-type.

MALE

Gnathosoma similar to female, but with corniculi more widely spaced and with a lobular structure between corniculus and internal mala of each side; fixed cheliceral digit with two teeth in addition to apical tooth; movable digit with one tooth in addition to apical tooth; spermatodactyl stout, L-shaped, about twice as long as movable digit. Dorsal shield with ornamentation similar to female, but with less pronounced lateral incisions and with two different morphotypes in relation to lengths of setae; one with most dorsal and lateral setae of idiosoma longer than distance to subsequent setae (except some of the most posterior) and the other with most dorsal and lateral setae of idiosoma shorter than distance to subsequent setae (except some of the z and s setae). Sternogenital shield with five pairs of setae (st1–st5) and three pairs of lyrifissures (iv1–iv3); posterior margin truncate; well separated from ventrianal shield. Endopodal shield totally fused with sternogenital shield. Ventrianal shield subtriangular, bearing seven of the nine pairs of opisthogastric setae in addition to circumanal setae. Opisthogastric setae similar to female. Metapodal plates absent. Peritrematic shield fused with exopodal shield beside coxa IV. Peritreme usually reaching level of r2. Trochanter and femur I each with a thickened dorsal seta; tarsus II with two club-shaped setae; femur, genu and tibia IV each with a ventral spur.
