FEMALE
Gnathosoma. Anterior margin of epistome convex and smooth or slightly serrate. Seta pc slightly longer than h3, which in turn is longer than the subequal h1 and h2; insertion of h 2 in transverse line with the insertion of h3 and almost in straight diagonal line with h1 and h3. Inner palp trochanter seta not elongate. Deutosternum moderately wide, with delimiting lateral lines and usually eight rows of 6–10 denticles each. Corniculi about as long as their basal widths, well separated from each other, distally convergent. Cheliceral digits of similar lengths; fixed digit with 7–8 teeth in addition to apical tooth; movable digit with 0–3 teeth in addition to apical tooth.
Idiosoma. Ovoid. Dorsum: dorsal shield ornamented, without lateral incisions at region of fusion or delineated strip along lateral margins; broad, extending ventrolaterally; anterior end of dorsal shield not strongly deflexed. No supernumerary setae on dorsal shield. Podonotal region of shield with 14 pairs of setae, including r3, which is similar to neighbouring setae. Opisthonotal region of shield with 14 pairs of setae. Unsclerotised lateral cuticle with four pairs of setae; UR setae absent. Dorsal and lateral setae of idiosoma varying from much shorter to about as long as distance to subsequent setae and smooth; most setae acicular, Z1–Z5 blunt-tipped. Ve n t e r: presternal platelets indistinct, but presternal area with transverse lines. Sternal shield with three pairs of setae and 2–3 pairs of lyrifissures (iv1–iv2; iv3 sometimes on the sternal shield); st1 slightly longer than st2 and st3; st2 about equidistant to st1 and st3; posterior shield margin concave. Third pair of sternal lyrifissures (iv3) and st4 on unsclerotised cuticle (in some specimens of D. perplexus iv3 on posterior margin of sternal shield or on unsclerotised cuticle). Genital shield not wide enough to include iv5, but including st5; bluntly pointed posteriorly. Two pairs of metapodal plates of different shapes. Without sclerotised line between genital and ventrianal shields. Opisthogaster with a pair of large, unsclerotised, disc-shaped structures; with 10 pairs of setae in addition to circumanal setae, of which three pairs on axe-shaped ventrianal shield; para-anal setae inserted at level between mid-length and anterior margin of anal opening, about half as long as post-anal seta. Anal opening not enlarged, over half as long as widened section of ventrianal shield, separated from posterior shield margin. Anterior section of endopodal shield well developed and fused with sternal shield; section behind sternal shield reduced to a tri-radiate platelet between coxae III–IV. Exopodal shield a continuous strip along coxae II–IV.
Peritreme. Extending from stigma to level between j1 and s1; about as wide as diameter of stigma. Peritrematic shield wide, fused with dorsal shield near level of s1, broadly fused with exopodal shield beside coxa IV.
Legs. Median section of pulvilli of legs II–IV rounded. Setation of legs I–IV, femur: 12, 11, 6, 6; genu: 13, 10, 9, 9; tibia: 13, 9, 8, 9. Leg II not thickened, without spine-shaped setae. Leg IV without macrosetae.
Spermathecal apparatus. Phytoseiid-type.
MALE: unknown.
