DISTRIBUTION: Portugal, Spain, and W France (see map in Reichstein, 1982a:214).

SYNONYMS: musiniani , tenebricus .

COMMENTS: Reviewed by Hinton (1926), Corbet (1978c), and Reichstein (1982a), with new morphological and ecological information supplied by Ventura and Gosalbez (1990) and Ventura et al. (1989).
