TYPE LOCALITY: Algeria, Oued Magra .

DISTRIBUTION: Egypt, W of Nile Delta, Libya, Tunisia, and Algeria.

SYNONYMS: kaiseri , zakariai .

COMMENTS: A distinctive species that is the type species of Dipodillus ( Lay, 1983) . Regional reviews are available for Egypt ( Osborn and Helmy, 1980), Libya ( Ranck, 1968), and Algeria ( Kowalski and Rzebik-Kowalska, 1991).
