TYPE SPECIES: Diomys crumpi Thomas, 1917 View in CoL .

COMMENTS: Misonne (1969) suggested that Diomys is related to Chiromyscus , Dacnomys , and Niviventer (Misonne used Maxomys for this group), but Musser and Newcomb (1983) hypothesized that Millardia , Cremnomys , and other Indian genera may be more closely allied to Diomys ; both views require testing.
