TYPE LOCALITY: Malaysia, Sabah (N Borneo), Gunung Kinabalu .

DISTRIBUTION: Known only from a few scattered localities in Sabah and Sarawak (N Borneo).

SYNONYMS: trachynotus .

COMMENTS: A very distinctive species represented in collections by few specimens (Musser et al., 1979).
