TYPE SPECIES: Mus armandvillei Jentink, 1892 .

COMMENTS: Formerly thought closely related to Mallomys , but has no affinity to that New Guinea Old Endemic, and instead is phylogenetically related to Komodomys and Pleistocene Hooijeromys , both endemics of Nusa Tenggara ( Musser, 1981c). Species of Papagomys reviewed by Musser (1981 c).
