SYNONYMS: Aspalomys , Eospalax , Myotalpa , Prosiphneus , Siphneus , Zokor .

COMMENTS: Phylogenetic relationships reviewed by Lawrence (1991), who provided references to systematic and genetic studies of living forms in the former USSR. Chinese taxa have been reviewed, with different results, by Fan and Shi (1982) and Li and Chen (1989).
