TYPE SPECIES: Oryzomys instans Thomas, 1895 .

COMMENTS: Arranged with oryzomyines ( Reig, 1984) but tribal affinity obscure; perhaps more closely related to thomasomyines. Aspects of morphology reported by Carleton (1973) and Voss and Linzey (1981).
