DISTRIBUTION: Extreme SC Utah, N Arizona, and NW New Mexico, USA.

SYNONYMS: relicta.

COMMENTS: Subgenus Neotoma . Morphological separation from N. lepida and geographic variation reviewed by Hoffmeister and de la Torre (1960). See Jones and Hildreth (1989, Mammalian Species, 328).
