DISTRIBUTION: W Oregon through W and C California, USA, to N Baja California, Mexico.

STATUS: IUCN - Vulnerable as N. f. riparia .

SYNONYMS: affinis , annectens , bullatior, cnemophila, dispar , luciana, macrotis , martirensis , mohavensis, monochroura , perplexa, riparia , simplex , splendens , streatori.

COMMENTS: Subgenus Teonoma (see account of N. cinerea ). See Carraway and Verts (1991a, Mammalian Species, 386).
