TYPE LOCALITY: Venezuela, Edo. Tachira, 14 km SE Pregonero, Rio Potosi, Paso Hondo, 1050 m .

DISTRIBUTION: Known only from the type locality.

COMMENTS: The two known specimens represent the least aquatically specialized ichthyomyine species described thus far.
