SYNONYMS: Aporodon, Ochetodon .

COMMENTS: Peromyscine. Alpha taxonomy revised by Allen (1895a), Howell (1914), and Hooper (1952), the last of whom framed the currently-used subgeneric division and species groupings. Distributions and species limits of Latin American harvest mice, especially those of the subgenus Aporodon , require renewed systematic attention. Generic relationships investigated by Carleton (1980), Hooper and Musser (1964a), and J. C. Patton et al. (1981).
