TYPE LOCALITY: Bolivia, Cochabamba Dept., Charuplaya, Rio Secure, 1350 m .

DISTRIBUTION: Low to intermediate elevations of Guianas and S Venezuela ( Ochoa et al., 1988), and along E Andean foothills from C Colombia to WC Bolivia.

COMMENTS: Considered a subspecies of O. capito by Cabrera (1961); specific differences illuminated by Gardner and Patton (1976).
