TYPE LOCALITY: Colombia, Magdalena Dept., Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Macotama, 3300 m .

DISTRIBUTION: Extreme NE Colombia.

COMMENTS: Included as a subspecies of T. laniger by Cabrera (1961); karyotype reported by Gardner and Patton (1976) as a species without comment.
